Your alphabet is missing letters..

The end of the semester is in full swing and I'm up to my eyeballs in work..But it shall soon be over and I have a tidal wave of things I need to document (paintings) and scan (negatives and prints) to toss up here.

Hope everyone is having a lovely spring so far. Until next time..

Adieu..

Everyone who reads this I say: Keep making and enjoying great art. It never goes unnoticed.

Cheers.

So it's 2:00am and I'm up working on a painting and I can't sleep. Been thinking too much about photo projects for this term. I'm starting to get some ideas finalized though. Tonight was good for that, as well as painting.

Oh yeah, I've gotten some comments on how the new avatar is scaring some people. It's interesting. I bought the mask at a costume shop yesterday. It reminded me of Eyes Wide Shut so much.

I love Kubrick..

Hopefully I'll incorporate it into a few photo shoots in the coming weeks..

On another note, I actually got around to replying to over a hundred or so comments. That was fun. Sorry for the delay people..I'll be thanking people for the favourites soon. I haven't forgot you awesome folks.

Expect some new paintings to be added in the next few days as well as hopefully some new photos from some studio shoots I've done in the past month.

Now let's see if next week's V-Day will be as productive as last year's..I'm changing up the fuel though; Tanqueray instead of trusty Jack. Ah well, time to get back to this painting and stop rambling.

Cheers people, let me know how you're all doing. Goodnight.

I'll always remember, the chill of November..

Sun Nov 20, 2005, 8:26 PM
Mood: Busy Pensive
Listening to: The Notwist - Pick Up the Phone
Reading: Graham Clarke - The Photograph
Watching: Microcosmos

Well this trial subscription ends in twenty minutes. Too bad I haven't gotten to do anything with it in the past week. It's crunch time at school again, critiques are in two weeks and portfolios are due in three.

New stuff soon. I promise.

I hope all is well with everyone.

Cheers.

"Everyone knows the last toes are always the coldest to go..." - The Mars Volta

Gone 'til November..

Fri Oct 28, 2005, 9:04 PM
Ironically..I was..

Well to those who actually read this I've been on a hiatus since around the first of June until now. Truth be told I haven't really done my shooting since then (which I'm kicking myself for..). The summer came and went in the blink of an eye and school started back up again last month and has been on overdrive ever since. It's getting very hectic (even moreso) and there won't be much updates for the next week or so. But I do have a few things to toss up here. And once this busy period (midterms and critiques) is over I can finally sit down with a bigger cup of coffee and peruse the deviations that have piled up in my message centre (not going to give numbers, but it's a lot!). So I bid you all adieu until next time. I hope all is well in your worlds.

Today's recommended listening:

Dropkick Murphys - The Green Fields Of France
Aimee Mann - Wise Up
Nick Drake - Fly
The Mutato Muzika Orchestra - Hey Jude
Fiest - One Evening

Killing the Homeless

Mood: Defeated Blah
Listening to: The Mars Volta - L'via L'viaquez
Reading: Jay Rayner - Eating Crow
Watching: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

I'm sitting here looking like a drowned rat. I just walked home for an hour and a half in the rain. Blah. It was a good chance to get some thinking done though, so I can't really complain.

The whole way home I was thinking of writing a nice long journal full of interesting things and what I've been up to the past week or so. But I'm still trying to dry myself off and typing a long journal isn't too appealing right now. So I'm just going to throw a few things down here and head to bed.

Here's a few random photographers to check out:

Chris Smith: www.funkfactor.com
Chris is a great photographer/graphic designer/webdesigner from the East coast of Canada. He has a very versatile gallery ranging from portraits and landscapes to brilliant live band photography and musician promo shots. His gallery is definitely worth the time.

Alex Cairncross: www.missionlessdays.com
I found Alex's site from looking up some stuff on the band Money Money. He has some really great portaits and interiors, as well as live band photography.

Richard Lann: www.richardlann.com
Richard is a superb band photographer and has mastered the use of ambient stage lighting for his subjects as opposed to the usual flash-accompanied concert shots that you usually see in the style of band photography. Give him a look.

Mark Meyer: www.photo-mark.com
This gallery is also a very versatile one, and the photographer it is atributed to also has some great articles and tips for fellow photographers. His landscapes are amazing and his tips and tricks for shooting while backpacking on a hike is extremely useful. If you're up for some great photography and readings, Mark's site is highly recommended. (I found his site by doing some domain name searches on names I'm looking to release my new site under, haha.)

Also, this past Thursday I went with some friends to a Mars Volta concert at Metropolis. All I have to say is..Wow. The show blew my mind. It was probably the best live show I have ever seen. If you haven't heard the band before, definitely check them out.

This turned out to be longer than I was expecting. Ah well.

Cheers.
